A celebration of life from 1953 - 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nina Andersen, who left us peacefully on September 2, 2024 at the age of 71. Born on May 8, 1953, at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut, Nina was the beloved daughter of Albert Andersen and Nicoletta Malgari. She attended Naugatuck High School, where she formed many lifelong friendships. In 1994, she made South Florida her home, bringing with her a vibrant spirit and a deep love for her family. For nearly 20 years, Nina was the welcoming face of Citrix Systems in Fort Lauderdale, where she served as the lead corporate receptionist. Her classic beaming smile and warm demeanor greeted every colleague and visitor, making her an unforgettable part of the company's culture.
Nina is survived by her loving son and daughter, Jay Ieronimo and Jonnin Sosa; her dear brother, Andy; and her four adored grandchildren: Jordan, Katelyn, Jianna, and Andersen. Her grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life, and she took immense pride in being a constant presence in their lives, never missing a special event, from baseball games and gymnastics meets to plays and graduations.
Nina treasured her friendships deeply and was known for her love of cooking, socializing, and storytelling. She could captivate an audience for hours with tales of family history and cherished memories. She had a passion for painting and a flair for shopping, often bringing home treasures that added color and joy to her surroundings. One of her greatest delights was her 1994 Corvette C4 LT1, an obsession that symbolized her love for life’s adventures and her appreciation for beauty and speed.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Nina will be remembered for her boundless energy, unwavering kindness, and commitment to those she loved. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held in Florida and Connecticut
